[SOLVED] Win 10 install stuck on logo - Windows 10.

I recently built my first pc, but I can't seem to install windows through any means. First, I tried using a usb, and I retried it with a different one, and using different windows pcs to create the drive, but nothing changed I used windows media creation tool. All the usb flash drives had the same issue: upon booting the "UEFI" version from the boot menu, a black screen with a blue windows logo would appear, but it would get stuck on that.

I tried swapping the motherboard, and the issue didn't change. I still have yet to test the other components in another pc, but I've tried various things with what I currently have and nothing seems to be working.

I've even tried installing windows 7 first via cd rom so I could then update to windows 10, but when I load the win 7 cd, it gets stuck on the primary installation setup screen where it asks to select a language and such. I'm beginning to think it's the power supply at fault, since on both a usb and cd, it gets frozen at a certain point prior to installation, but I'm not sure.

What could it be? Here are my current components:. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.

Thank you so much, Greg, this list is very comprehensive and I'll be sure to go through it carefully. Otherwise, the PCI-E based storages will be only available for the data drive usage.

Hi, Greg, I've tried all the things that I could from this post, but I seem to be having the same issue. To clarify, since I'm building this pc from scratch, I don't have any OS currently on my computer, so I can't do all those other steps that apply to people with windows currently installed. The only thing I haven't tried and could still try is recreating the thumb drive from that windows media creation tool but this time unchecking the default settings.

Although looking over them when I created the thumb drive, they looked like the correct settings for my pc, so I don't expect that to change anything. Some more details about the issue are as follows. When it gets stuck on the screen, my cpu runs a bit faster, and slows down suddenly after a minute or two. The same effect happens on my usb stick with the built in led indicator light, as it blinks slowly for a minute, quickly flashes on and off for a second or two, and then the led turns off.

On my keyboard, the leds turn off, and all of these things happen around the same time. The motherboard led is still on, meaning power is still being supplied, and my fans are still running, indicating something is happening.

My theory is that it loads some data from the usb onto ram, and it fails after a certain point, which causes the cpu speed and lights to turn off. This would lead me to believe there's an error in writing to my ssd which is, by the way, recognized in the BIOS , but that doesn't make sense to me since it gets stuck before even loading the installation setup. A lot of motherboards will shutdown quite rapidly if they detect the CPU fan is not connected or disabled I don't remember the details as to whether it is drivers or something else, but you don't even get to the point to add drivers..

With the secure boot option, I can't turn it off; I can only switch it to "other os" or "windows UEFI", so I have it switched the "other os", and I've seen multiple posts where people say to switch it to that. I also checked and I have no keys, which should mean the secure boot thing is ok.

I turned off fast boot, and only have my keyboard and critical components plugged in I only have the one storage drive, and there's no wifi adapter or lan cable plugged in. I tried it both with CSM on and off with each ram stick individually, and I'm getting the same issue. The way things are going, it might be a good idea to copy a driver to the NVME drive regardless I don't know exactly where to place it though I put my driver on a Flash Drive, but he doesn't get far enough to add it Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.

In reply to d-brie's post on January 26, Hi, Two quick things to check Is the CPU Fan plugged in and functioning? In reply to slance's post on January 26, Sorry, I accidentaly marked that as the solution, but I meant to replay and say that yes, my cpu fan is functioning, and I've tried various ram configurations, as well as each individually, and they seem to be working, but I am planning on testing the sticks in a friend's pc to see if they run properly there as well.

Hi, It seems to me I have read about the Samsung drive you are using having issues It also seems to me that the problem was more prevelent when using AMD based machines.. You'd have to ask the motherboard maker what that's about.

You should also unplug all other hard drives during install so they don't interfere. If not PCIe then I don't think that warning applies.

Next try removing a stick of RAM to see if that helps, then another stick. Next try disconnecting network in case that's interfering. My ssd is an nvme m. This site in other languages x.
